Assistive Communication Devices
ES/TRC offers individuals, their families and professionals who
work with them a place to learn about voice out communication aids
(VOCA's) for children and adults who are unable to speak, read or
write.
ES/TRC provides an assortment of assistive input devices and specialized
software for computer-based programs for language development. Voice
input and speech synthesizing tools are featured at ES/TRC.
The ES/TRC library includes print and video, resources, toys assistive
communication devices, computer peripherals, specialized software
and other technology designed for persons with special needs.
The Vision Center
ES/TRC operates a comprehensive, integrated computer center equipped
with assistive technology for persons who are blind or visually
impaired.
Available technology includes JAWS, Open Book, magnification, screen
reading, scanning with optical character reading and a complete
Brailling service. A Tech Support Line is available through our
website at www.trcd.org. ES/TRC's consulting staff performs demonstrations,
informational seminars and workshops.
