Adult Classes
SEWING PROJECT teach adults sewing skills which they can use to
produce clothing for themselves and items for sale Mon 9-11 a.m.
Sat. 10-12 noon
COMPUTER CLASS enable adults to become computer literate and to
develop a skill that could assist them in gaining meaningful employment
Tues. 10-12 noon Wed. 9-11 a.m.
BIBLE STUDY provide an opportunity for adults from all faith communities
to gather for fellowship and exploration of the word. Fri 7:30-8:30
a.m.
GED initiated to help adults obtain their high School diploma. The
computerized program is designed to give instructions so that students
can successfully pass the GED exam.
Mon, Thurs, Fri 10-12 Noon
Tutorial Mon. - Fri. 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
COMMUNITY GARDEN allows residents to own garden plots where they
can grow vegetables to feed their families or for sale at the Founders
Family Center's farmers market.
INVESTMENT CLUB assists individuals in managing their finances and
learning about the stock market.
4th Thurs. of each month 5:30-7:00p.m.
SACRED GEMS a support group for women 3rd Thurs. of each month 6-7.30
p.m.
MICRO ENTERPRISE INSTITUTE assists individuals in starting small
business.
ADULT LITERACY assists individuals in learning how to read (Open
Schedule)
YOUTH PROGRAMS
COMPUTER CLUBHOUSE designed to help students achieve computer literacy,
increase proficiency in creative thinking, reading and writing,
and improve academic standards in all subject areas. Mon. - Thurs
3-6 p.m.
YOUTH CHESS CLUB teaches the fundamentals of the game of chess,
and increase critical thinking skills, decision making skills, discipline
and focus. Mon. 5-6 p.m.
HOMEWORK CLUB designed for students who need further academic enrichment,
assist students with homework and provide supplemental work outside
of school, if needed.
Mon. – Thus. 3-6 pm..
COMMUNITY GARDEN teaches youth the basics of gardening and how to
provide nourishment through homegrown vegetables.
PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION PREPARATION helps children in 1st-4th grades
to prepare for the proficiency exam. Mon. & Wed. 4:30 –
6 p.m.
ETIQUETTE PROGRAM (Beyond Hair & Nails) Introduces young people
to the basic social graces, personal habits and decorum necessary
to succeed in today's world. Instruction consists of table etiquette,
personal hygiene, manners and more.
Thurs 4.30 to 6 p.m.
BOY SCOUTS grades 1st through 8th
Tues. 4.30 to 6.00 p.m.
FLICK FRIDAY movies or entertainment
2nd Fri. of month 4-7 p.m.
KARATE teaches discipline and self-defense
Wed. 4:30 – 6 p.m.
KNITTING AND CROCHETTING teaches basics so they can complete items
for their use or for gifts.
